Rolls-Royce Ltd. Derby 1245- Sr/Go4/AD/16.12.37. To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls} ROAD WHEELS We thank you for your memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}5/R.11.12.37., contents of which have been noted. As a matter of fact, the question was raised by us in our memo Sr/Go2/AD/17.11.37., to By with whom we have been in correspondence concerning "heat treated rims". For your information, Beaufils obtains the rims he fits to our wheels from the Dunlop people in France (we know this to be a fact, for we have, actually, a modification of wheels in suspense at Beaufils, owing to the lack of rims at Dunlop's) but, as regards "heat treated rims" neither Beaufils nor Dunlop know of this treatment. We suppose that, following By's steps in the matter, we shall soon be able to obtain more information from Dunlop who have not yet heard from their friends in England. Sr/Go | ||
