BENTLEY CHASSIS - BIG END BEARING MATERIAL.

With reference to By/EM.32/MN.17.12.36. regarding the particulars about the material which has been used in making the Experimental RR.56. big end bearings, we have been given the following information by HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/Hall., who has had the handling of these bearings.

The material was extruded bar supplied by Messrs. Reynolds. The bearings received a stress release treatment before grinding of 160° - 170° for 6 hours.
