X4623 To BJ from EFC. c. ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} c. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} c. C. EFC3/T4.1.26. X.4622 - ELLIOTT AMMETERS. Further to our EFC3/T1.1.26 stating that the four Elliott ammeters referred to were doing quite well electrically, one of them having already completed over 10,000 miles without failure, but that the appearance (finish) of these instruments is not equal to the present standard Weston. It now appears that should we adopt these instruments on production the dials would be made by the same firm†¹ who make us the dials for the other instruments,†² and the finish of the dial would consequently be uniform with that of the dials of these other instruments. Therefore, it would appear that from an experimental point of view, we need not take into consideration this particular item of finish. †¹(The Cambridge Scientific Instrument Co.) †²(a) Radiator thermometers.
