Contd. -7- (a) Correctly set, and free governor operation. (b) Good fitting throttle. (c) Good throttle spindle bearings. (d) Clean throttle. (e) Sound, non-leaking induction system. (f) Carburetter low speed jet setting should err on the strong side rather than be weak. (g) Plenty of movement of accelerator pedal before throttle commences to open. This reduces explosions caused by driving with the weight of the foot on the pedal. (h) Accelerator pedal spring and throttle closing spring should be on the strong side rather than below standard. We can hope for improvement from (1) Ball bearing throttle. (2) Use of extra jet to come into operation at 1° before throttle closing (if practicable). Apart from these, at the present time we know of no other alterations which will in any way help to do away with this fault. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/A.J.Lidgey. | ||
