X728 Rg{Mr Rowledge}- By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/GEA.5/EB. 30.12.32. Attach hereto is a sample of a new Packing known as KDG Packing, submitted by the "Korect" Depth Gauge Company, who claim that it is absolutely proof against petrol, benzole, alcohol, crude oil and all types of lubricating oil. The cork layers are interlined with a specially treated fabric of their own. This allows a very high vertical elasticity, making it possible to definitely close cocks or valves with very little pressure. They are also placing on the market, another packing made specially for use where very high temperatures are concerned, this packing being able to resist heat up to 160° Centigrade. Would you care for samples of the latter ? ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
