LARGE PETROL TANK. B.4.

We have read Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}7/MJ.28.2.33. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}13/B.27.2.33. &
BY.4/G.24.2.33. re the larger petrol tank on Bensport.

The question of the actual capacity that shall be used we leave entirely to the Expl. Dept. to settle with Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}

Whatever that capacity may be we wish to use the design of tank as shown on R.Sch.3692. As far as the top shape and filler are concerned as this position of filler is of advantage in that it can be inside the rear boot and out of sight. Also no vent pipe is required.

By cutting off the bottom of the tank to reduce the capacity the channel in the tank bottom to pass the exhaust fish-tail will disappear, so cheapening the tank.

We can also see that by adopting this design of tank for the smaller capacity we shall have up our sleeves a ready means of giving any special customer the larger tank should our subsequent experiences lead us to believe that such a demand is justifiable.

The two bodies in hand are being built to suit this tank on R.Sch.3692.
