DESCRIPTION
"SUPERFLEXIT" is a patented non-metallic flexible tubing, manufactured by British labour, from British materials. It is specially designed for conveying all hydrocarbon fuels—petrol, benzole, paraffin, naptha, etc.—and oils. It is also suitable for use with turpentine, vegetable oil, paint and varnish, carbon tetra-chloride, amyl acetate, air and gases, and for a variety of other purposes. Can be supplied for high and low temperatures and pressures, and is unaffected by excessive vibration or extremes of climatic conditions.

SPECIAL FEATURES
"SUPERFLEXIT" is extremely flexible, and installation is correspondingly simple and rapid. The unions are permanently attached, without soldering or brazing. The special lining being insoluble and impermeable by the fluid conveyed, all possibility of discoloration or contamination is eliminated. Even with the most volatile liquid, there can be no evaporation through the wall of the tube.
Sizes :— 3/16-in. to 8 in. bore, in all normal lengths.
Types :—Standard types have been developed for most requirements, but the construction can be varied to meet special purposes or conditions.
Unions :—Male and female unions are stocked for all standard sizes up to 3 in. Above this size, flange fittings are available. Aircraft unions to A.G.S. drawings are stocked, in both Duralumin and brass. Special fittings, of any type, can be supplied to customers' specification.

APPLICATIONS
Aircraft. Petrol and Oil lines, also for special requirements. Oxygen tubes, parachute rip-cord housing, etc.
Motor Vehicles and Motor Boats. Petrol and Oil lines : Oil gauge and clutch connections, and for brake gear. "SUPERFLEXIT" is particularly suitable with flexibly mounted engines.
Diesel Engines. Lubricating oil and fuel pipes.
Machine Tools. Oil tubes for hydraulic operation.
Fire Extinguishers. Delivery tubing, particularly for carbon tetrachloride types.
Laundry and Cleaning Plant. Tubes for carrying carbon tetrachloride and other liquids used.
Garage Equipment. Paraffin washing hose, air lines, and greasing plant.
Petrol Pumps. Owing to the fact that the lining is impervious to petrol, loss by evaporation is eliminated. "SUPERFLEXIT" is therefore particularly advantageous for use on electric pumps where the hose is always full. All requirements of Board of Trade Weights and Measures Department are fully satisfied.
Petrol and Oil Wagons, Tankers and Bunkering. "SUPERFLEXIT" delivery and bunkering hose (canvas-covered and armoured) is particularly easy to handle, as it is lighter and much more flexible than other types of large bore hose.

VIBRATION TEST
A length of "SUPERFLEXIT," filled with paraffin under pressure, was vibrated continuously for 232 hours, giving 47,000,000 reversals. At the end of this period the same tube was subjected to a pressure of 300 lb. per square inch :—
There was no sign of leakage or deterioration.

TEMPERATURE TEST
A length of "SUPERFLEXIT" was filled with P.4 Oil at a pressure of 50 lb. per square inch. The oil was then heated up to 212° Fahr. and maintained at this temperature continuously for 60 hours. At the end of this period there was no sign of leakage, and the tube was then cut up for examination, and found to be in perfect condition.

CHEMICAL TEST
The lining of a "SUPERFLEXIT" tube was tested for the destructive effects of hot oils, etc., including :—
Benzole, Petrol, T.E.L. Doped Spirit, Aviation Spirit, Castor Oil, P-4 Oil,
continuously for 6 hours at high temperatures, up to 302° Fahr. and then cooled for 17 hours.
It was passed as perfectly satisfactory for use up to 248° Fahr.
