SH 192 GN RECEIVED HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X7040 BY2/J.2.9.30. x7040 Phantom II and 20/25 H.P.Pistons in R.R.53 Material. We have now had a report from the Test Department that the 20 sets of pistons produced in the above material have been put through and they have been quite satisfactory. We also understand that the Works are satisfied that these pistons can be produced in this alloy without trouble. We believe you have had sets of pistons in this material supplied to you for experimental running. We shall be glad if you will arrange for a Standardisation Sheet to be issued covering the use of pistons made in this material to replace our present standard pistons made to Specification No.221. R.R.53 is of course the symbol for the particular grade of T.50 material which is considered to be the most suitable for pistons. BY, | ||
