Hand & Spear Hotel
Weybridge,

24.10.33.

The car has run very well during the day's mileage. We stayed last night at Watford held up by fog. The total mileage since leaving Derby is 813. Mileage on the track 366.

Petrol consumption 13.64 m.p.g.
Oil consumption 400 m.p.g.

The run on the track during the morning was full throttle for five laps, then eased for two laps at 60 m.p.h. The oil temp. reached 100°C after the third lap, but rose no further during the remainder of the laps.

The test was varied during the afternoon, accelerating from 30 m.p.h. to maximum speed for one lap, then decelerating to 30 m.p.h., repeating the routine for two hours, afterwards three laps at maximum speed then decelerating to 30 m.p.h. for two hours.

The average lap speed was 72 m.p.h. under these conditions.

The half mile speed was 92.78 m.p.h.

The maximum lap speed was 87.07 m.p.h.

We have had to take the silencer off as the mixture was too strong - RR. jets are fitted instead of RR.X. Will you please send us the correct jets also will you please let us have a book of tickets for the track.
