For the attention of Mr. Worth.

Dear Sirs,

Thank you for your letter about the 17 x 4" rims for testing 6" section tyres on the Bentley.

We have gone very carefully into the question of the balance weights and find that the drawing we sent you, GB.2397, has exactly the same spoking as the wheel made by Dunlop which has been standard on the 3½ litre Bentley since its beginning. We do not therefore anticipate any trouble when using the same spoking on a rim 1" smaller in diameter.

Possibly Brambers did not notice that the 3.4" dimension on the spoking only exists locally in three places on the wheel, and that otherwise it is not altered from the wheels they first sent.

We are sending you two new prints of the same drawing, so that you can instruct Brambers to send us a set of wheels for test. The wheels we already have cannot be altered, but we can probably run them experimentally without the proper balance weights.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
