Hanbury - Head Complaints} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}4/KT.5. 7.33. Re. PETROLS IN FRANCE. It is quite right that a law has been passed for the inclusion of Alcohol in petrol, and trouble has arisen through the alcohol separating, leaving a residue which gums up the air valve, throttles, etc. The position is that nothing can be done to the cars to overcome the trouble, and it will remain until the French experts find a correct method of mixing the alcohol with the petrol. Re. the use of Esso and Azur. We have run two 10,000 miles tests using the above petrol mixtures, and we have not had any unpleasant smells arising from its use. The companies making the above mixtures do not include alcohol in their petrol. They are avoiding this by paying a royalty to the Government. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W.
