(CONTINUED).

For the sharp edge of the cutter would not then fit so close to the unions and would be much less likely, therefore, to damage the unions. We suggest a 1/32" radius.

The writer recalls Mr. Steadman's visit to these Works last November, when Mr. Steadman brought with him an Aluminium casting, washers and nuts etc. with which the coolers are fixed into the casting. The writer is of the opinion the washers were of soft aluminium and of an oblong spheroid cross section. They appeared to be quite a loose fit over the unions.

It would seem therefore, that a small radius at the base of the unions, as proposed, would not necessitate any alterations in the size and shape of the washers.

We shall be pleased to have your comments at an early date. It would be of considerable assistance to us if you would kindly forward one or two washers. We have an aluminium casing in our possession.

The writer wishes to remind Mr. Steadman of a Top Pressing made to our design and which was left with him early last December for his perusal. Should this type be ultimately decided upon, we should require the sample as a copy.

Your faithfully,
For JOHN MARSTON, Limited,

P.A.H. Yeats.
