Combination BRAKE AND ALIGNMENT Tester

Cut JY-2

Combines in a single compact unit all of the service and merchandising features, all of the long accepted, sound engineering principles of both the Weaver Brake Tester and the Weaver Wheel Alignment Indicator. It is at once a testing and a merchandising unit for the two most necessary, most profitable services your shop can give—services that together represent a full 30% of the millions of dollars spent for automotive maintenance.

The Weaver Combination Brake and Alignment Tester will keep your shop busy by discovering unsuspected service jobs every day. Entirely automatic in action, the car owner operates it himself by simply driving onto the floor plates to stop. SELLS HIMSELF by reading the visible proof of his dragging tires and unequal brakes.

For full description of operating features of this Tester, see catalogue pages on Weaver Automatic Wheel Alignment Indicator and Weaver Brake Tester. This one machine, being a combination of two individual machines, will perform all of the tests and services of both.

Especially recommended for use in shops where space is limited, or where low cost is an important consideration. Unless you prefer separate Alignment Indicator and Brake Tester, this is the basic unit of a Safety Lane for your shop. This Tester and a Weaver Headlight Tester will give you a Complete Safety Lane.

Automatic Brake Tester

Automatic — Accurate
Operation of the Weaver Brake Tester is entirely automatic. It is only necessary to drive the vehicle onto the tread plates and stop. Each tread plate is a horizontal scale, weighing the number of pounds of brake energy applied to the wheel resting upon it.

As the vehicle stops, red liquid rises in each of the four thermometer-like tubes in the glass pedestal, registering instantly the amount of brake power applied to each wheel. These tubes are calibrated in pounds, and also show allowable tolerance in brake equalization. Thus instantly and automatically the whole story of each of the four brakes is converted into a visible and understandable reading for the benefit of both customer and service manager.

understanding of both car owner and service manager of the condition which must be corrected. Closing the service sale requires less time, and the customer is better satisfied.

Many shops place their Weaver Brake Tester so it is easily accessible to all cars that drive in. Customers thus feel free to test their own cars periodically, and call the service manager when their brakes need attention.

Merchandising Helps
Not only is the Weaver Brake Tester most effective itself as a means of selling adjustments, relining and repairs but the Weaver-equipped shop is given the advantage of a carefully organized plan for advertising and merchandising its Brake Department. Newspaper ads, circulars, hand bills, signs, muslin banners, wall charts and other advertising materials are available that will attract customers and open the way for a brake test and a man-to-man sales talk. Consistently followed, this plan identifies your shop as one of the thousands of Authorized Weaver Safety Service shops throughout the country and establishes your reputation and local prestige for accurate dependable brake service.

Selling Brake Service
Having thus displayed the true condition of the brakes so the driver himself can see the actual condition of each, sale of the necessary adjustment, relining or repair is based on a mutual

More Accurate Service
Brakes may be applied gradually, for a long, easy stop; they may be applied with heavier pressure, as in the average traffic stop; or they may be applied suddenly for an emergency stop. Accurate adjustment requires that brakes be properly equalized under all of these conditions, as they can be by testing with the Weaver Brake Tester.

Safety demands that brakes be adequate to stop the vehicle and its load within a reasonable distance.
