Childs} Dear Sirs: We are very pleased to acknowledge receipt of your favour of the 24th instant, and have every hope that the new 12-volt Model 850 will be available within the next 12 days. Meantime, we are sending you today a complete 6-volt Set, which is absolutely identical in size, shape, etc., to the 12-volt model, which will enable you to have everything ready for the final fitting. The fittings included with this 6-volt Set you will find fitted with 12-volt Bulbs, and thus when the proper 12-volt Set becomes available we will send you same less all the fittings, and you can return the 6-volt set only less the fittings. Would you please firmly impress upon your fitters that the set we are sending you must not be connected to the 12-volt battery, as otherwise this 6-volt set will be ruined. We will attach to the set a label warning your fitters that this particular model is for 6-volt operation only. The Control Panel we are sending with the Set is the square type as described in our letter of the 23rd instant, but if you find this is not suitable for your requirements, and will let us know, we shall be only too pleased to exchange this for any other type which will fit in with your dashboard layout. Also with the Set we have sent you a pair of Running-Board Aerials, and we recommend that the main aerial, which has the lead-in going up to the set, should be fitted under the near-side running-board.
