With reference to the stiffer axle shafts as shewn by N.Sch.4982, Ws. has asked for more clearance in the differential casing for reaming the bushes for the axle shafts after they have been pressed into position. Our suggestion to meet this request is that the bearing surfaces on the shaft are made 1.500 dia. instead of 1.490, and that elsewhere the shaft is made 1.490" excepting where reduced at the splined ends, which remain unaltered.
