Doors.

It was explained that the most satisfactory lock so far available for production is the Everall.
We explained that Lancegaye laminated glass was now being fitted to the doors because:

(a) Park Wards asked us to try it.
(b) Triplex Toughened glass can cause rather serious injury by cuts ( vide Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD{Frank Dodd - Bodies}).
We have no brief for Lancegaye Glass, but would like a laminated glass in place of the toughened.

The matter was left open.

Floors.

We explained that Balsa Wood was used because of its ability to absorb sound and its lightness. It was agreed that we must use it on the front floors up to the body crossmember behind the gearbox. The rest of the floor can be tried in standard plywood which is cheaper.

Sunshine Roof.

The question of damping the sun roof metal slide to prevent the noise of air eddies entering the car was mentioned and Mr. Ward is investigating the matter.

EY. recalled his request that the seal of the front edge of the sunshine roof be made of a much thicker sorbo strip to ensure that a good seal is made when the roof is closed.

Back Light.

It was agreed to use a plain back light as on 7.B.5. of the maximum permissible dimensions.

Ventilation.

Scuttle ventilation to be carried out by a flap ventilator on the scuttle-offside with interior control. A duct to lead the air up to the interior of the top of the scuttle.
This is to replace the top scuttle ventilator.
Window ventilators to front doors only to be of the Hillman design as on 2.B.50 but the handle bearing to be in both sides of the glass channel.
