Instrument Board.

The design proposed DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}278 was submitted, it being materially the layout of 9.B.5. with the illumination of D.B.5. Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} was asked to supply to BY/HD.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} some more of the suitable scuttle rail lamps of which he was shewn a sample if possible for test purposes.

Wind Noise.

Besides the sun-roof front joint previously mentioned, it was stated that the door joints needed attention. It was agreed to use the seal as on 9.B.5. but not to paint the rubber. The seal to be in both lock and hinge shuts.

Heating.

It was explained that we had decided to go ahead with the R.H. heater and defroster unit and to prepare several sets for final test. One such heater will be fitted to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s new car. This heater will be available when production starts.

Sound Insulation.

Sv. raised the question of the desirability of a thick under felt to the floor carpet to prevent high speed tremors from the road being felt by the passengers feet.
It was agreed to fit a thick 3/8 to 1/2 felt as well as the normal felt and rubber under-lay. The rubber may be next to the boards if desired.
Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/PD. will make tests on a car to prove the efficacy of this treatment.

Radio.

It was pointed out that the best set so far available is the Ferranti, but that it is too large and too heavy.
It was agreed that we should proceed to develop this set to supply as an extra, and Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs} will negotiate with the makers to reduce the weight and size.
