Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr. Pitt.

We are advising our Production Dept. to get in touch with you with regard to the testing of drip plugs. Could you please let us know what rates of flow these drip plugs will have on production.

We should also be pleased to hear whether the initial difficulty with the steel plugs has been overcome and whether you have tried other means of improving the manufacture. Do you still resort to reaming in position?

We have tried several of your drip plugs with the plunger removed in a standard flowmeter, and find that the flow varies by plus and minus 20%. Since this is the total limit on the plug, it would appear that the remaining parts must be dead to size.

With regard to the vexed question of oil. We suppose you would like us to recommend your Luvax-Bijur oil in our Instruction Book. We have demonstrated to ourselves and we believe convinced you that the oil you recommend congeals rapidly at a low temperature. Have you taken up this point with the manufacturers of the oil or do you still expect us to recommend it with this default?

We are at present trying out Castrol 'R' which Mr. Bijur recommends in a list we have. We think this oil has several advantages :

(1) It maintains its mobility up to -10°F.{Mr Friese}
(2) It is clear oil.
(3) It has well-known lubricating properties.
(4) It has a moderately high viscosity.

Have you any reasons for believing that this oil is unsuitable?

Yours faithfully,
