X3806 Hsl/LGs.4.39. To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} CENTRAL LUBRICATION. It will be necessary for the Works to have some apparatus for checking the flow through the Bijur drip plugs. The plugs should all be tested by the makers before they are delivered, but as a safeguard we recommend that we should check one in ten, and on the result of that check, take what action is considered necessary. When making the test it is essential that the same oil is used and it should be kept at a constant temperature. We recommend Castrol 'R' for this purpose. We consider we should get in touch with Messrs. Luvax who are supplying the drip plugs and arrange our test tackle on similar lines to theirs so that our results will be comparative.
