English Racing Automobiles Ltd.,
BOURNE,
Lincs:

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 28th October.

We are glad to hear that you have had good results from our Aluminium Tin Alloy with regard to big-end bearings.

There is no doubt that the scoring you have experienced has been due to the oil filtering conditions. We recommend a filter of the by-pass type.

In spite of the fact that this alloy is still in a somewhat experimental stage, in view of the results you have had we do not see that there is any technical objection to your having supplies for your next season's racing requirements. Commercially, however, the material is being handled by High Duty Alloys, Slough, Bucks, and we would, therefore, ask you to get in touch with them and state your requirements.

Yours faithfully,

For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
