Further to BY/Cgh{W Clough}12/N16.1.29. the various modifications received from WW. have been considered along with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, and it is agreed that the Works can go ahead on certain items, and the revised position for all the sections for the above series is now as follows :- 'E' SECTION. Crankcase and bearings. The top half crankcase should be instructed for production with the following modifications embodied. Lec.2655 Main Bearings. Lec.2637 Inclined Oil Filler. Lec.2654 No.6 Camshaft Brg. Dowel Screw. Lec.2631 Lubrn. of Air Pump & Dynamo Drive. Holes for main bearing studs should be counter-bored .015" larger in diameter than the studs, and .200" deep from the joint face of the main bearings. Crankshaft. To be instructed for production with the following modifications :- Lec.2636 Double Oil Flinger. and oil caps should be provided in crankpins instead of oil tubes. Valve Rocker Cover. This should be provided with the felt packing scheme shown on Lec.2651, but we should maintain our present scheme of holding down studs shown on Sch.1102, but 4 should be provided instead of 2. This should then be instructed for production. Lower Tappet Guide. The location should be as arranged verbally, and then instructed for production. Carburetter.
