X601 c. to EH. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/T4/F20.1.20. X601 RE. LODGE SPARKING PLUGS FOR CHASSIS. X1918 Replying to your memo. Bnl/W17.1.20, so far as the running of cars by Test Dept. is concerned, the Lodge C.9 sparking plugs have been quite satisfactory. Mr.Bellringer, who was at the works the other day, reported that he was having considerable trouble with the Lodge C.9 plugs, however, and recommended for experimental running the "Forward" sparking plug. We do not, however, think that these plugs would be of much service. With regard to K.L.G. plugs, we understand that Mr.Hives has recently been trying some new K.L.G. plugs, which are promising, and although we have not had any experience with these, we must say that the K.L.G. people as sparking plug manufacturers during the war, were very thorough and painstaking, and if a K.L.G. plug can be found which gives satisfaction on our chassis, we should feel quite happy in recommending K.L.G. plugs as a standard fitting on our chassis.
