RE. FAILURE OF LODGE PLUGS.

We are in receipt of your EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}7/F17.1.20, concerning the above, and to day we have a case which we can draw to your notice.

A complete set of 12 of these plugs have been drawn from stock and fitted to a car, and in less than 20 miles two of the plugs have given out and are firing "Upstairs". We are, therefore, having these two plugs addressed to you personally so that you may go into the reason of their failure.

It is, of course, quite possible that these plugs could be cured if it were possible for them to be taken to pieces to be cleaned, but at the same time this engine has perfect carburation and lubrication, therefore, there must be something radically wrong for two sparking plugs to misfire after 20 miles of running. This is exactly the same sort of complaint that we have had from certain of our customers to whom we have supplied this type of plug.

We shall be pleased to hear from you by return so that we may know what to do in future cases.
