(4) (17) Snow Chains. Although we are aware that under certain conditions on full lock the clearance between the tyre and the side edge of the wing can be entirely absorbed even without snow chains, complaints have been limited to fouling the nose of the wing. To deal with this it is proposed to add a note to the coachbuilders drawing specifying the minimum clearance between the tyre and the nose of the wing to be not less than 1 1/2" and this applies only to the special Rolls-Royce spring loaded type of chain; EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} will deal with this matter. (18) Finishing Instructions for 28-U-6 and 29-U-6. It was arranged that Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} should send to Derby some suggestions for the above. At the special request of Sales it was agreed to fit a Cox's opening screen to 29-U-6. It was also arranged tofit a Lucas SW.4. screen wiper to 27-U-6 and 28-U-6 and a Berkshire twin drive wiper to 29-U-6 (19) Petrol Filters. It was generally agreed that a petrol filter on the outside of the chassis frame was not practicable on account of the necessity for cutting a large hole in the body edge plate, thereby destroying the strength of the body at this point and giving serious grounds for complaint on the part of the coachbuilder.
