-2- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}2/KW.22.11.34. An alternative rear board has been made in mild steel. This also has rolled edges, and a steel bracket welded to the board round the cut-out. To save weight no angle piece has been incorporated, two steel boxes being welded in the position where the board is screwed down. As in the alum. board, two corrugations have been inserted running the length of the board and one short one across. The weight is 10 ozs. more than the alum. board, i.e., 4 lbs. 6 ozs. 20 S.W.G. M/S. is used with 14 " " for the boxes and 14 " " for support bracket. Comparisons. The steel board is equally as strong as the new alum. board and has more spring. In the writer's opinion the steel board is less likely to take a permanent set and would simplify production, with less cost. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.Dodd. This set of floorboards have been made to suit the present standard Bentley, and will require checking for the new rubber mounted engine. | ||
