To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 4819 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/KW. 26.11.34. Sheet Metal Floorboards for the Bentley. Further to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/KW.12.11.34. We have now completed our experiments on the sheet metal floorboards, and have gone over the necessary modifications with E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} The alterations are slight and drawings are now being made. Whilst in London last week we took the opportunity of trying one or two finished Bentleys and of discussing the floorboard question with JLE.{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} and Archer. Their experience appears to be exactly similar to our own, i.e., that it is exceedingly difficult to get clearance between the floorboards and the gearbox on the existing cars, and that if contact does occur a badly booming car results.
