S.U. Carburetter Co.Ltd.,
Adderley Park,
BIRMINGHAM.8.

For the attention of Mr. Cooper.

Dear Sirs,

We are instructing our order office to order from you, four pairs of H.4. carbs.

These will be in accordance with your specification No.403 (Dated 4.7.38.) except for details of the auto start device.

This device should be to your drawing No.3258 (offside type) but modified according to your drawing No. 3255C-3256C which show alterations A.{Mr Adams} B & C, (extra metal left on air bleed bosses etc).

It would be a good idea if you altered the specification to include these mods., and we would be glad if you would send us say three copies of the modified specification. This will simplify ordering, and serve to keep us up to date.

Further we would like you to supply by return, one pair of hydraulically damped pistons and dashpots complete, suitable for H.V.5 carbs. (1.625 throttle bore). These are required for tests purposes on one of our standard 4 1/4 Bentley engines. A separate official order will follow.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
