We have been requested by Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} to send you a print of PL.281 showing a temporary scheme for mounting the 40 m.m. gun on the Oerlikon mounting with head No.149.Mk.1. The print PL.281 is herewith.

The parts have been detailed and are in the course of construction.

We are engaged on the final scheme which after consultation with the Naval Experts who we saw the other day, we suggest should follow the lines of the temporary scheme if at all possible in order to save the mounting of the head casting.

We shall be sending you a scheme for your criticism as soon as it is available but we can not get much further until we have received an arrangement of the gun.
