3 Gun Ye. from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/JMS/13.7.40. Many thanks for the arrangement drawing of the QA.1192. I presume that the installation drawing which Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} requires is following. You will remember that you made an analysis of various sizes of gun and various quantities of ammunition, compared with the weight of the existing 303 equipment, carried in fighter aircraft. I would like to have a copy of this information if you consider that it is up-to-date, i.e. did we actually get the weight of the Hispano gun or did we assume a weight which may not be correct? Incidentally they now seem to think that they will have no difficulty in carrying twelve 303's in a fighter so that six 1/2" guns may be possible if the amount of ammunition carried is limited. We now have a Hurricane and a Spitfire wing and Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} is making exact detail drawings of the parts of these wings relative to the gun installation.
