Please quote our reference: S.10 9th May 1938. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. C.S. Steadman. Further to our letter of the 3rd inst. we have pleasure in advising you that the two Thermostats required are being despatched to you today, or tomorrow, marked for your attention. The free length of the bellows is 1.15/32" and the Thermostat will be known by our code X.30065/7. The valve cracks open at 78°C. and is full open at 94°C. with 5/16" lift. The bellows employed is 1 1/4" diameter, which is the same as those previously used but has 14 live convolutions instead of 10. These extra convolutions should give sufficient lift in the event of bellows puncture. We presume that you propose to test these units and trust that we may have the pleasure of hearing further from you. Yours faithfully, For S. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LIMITED. THERMOSTATIC CONTROL DEPARTMENT. To avoid delay all envelopes should be addressed to the firm. | ||
