Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr.C.S. Steadman

We wish to thank you for your letter of the 5th inst. and as requested we will check the free length of the bellows before they are assembled.

Regarding the Heater, we are pleased to hear that our smaller design appeals to you, but we wish to inform you at this stage that for reasons of cost we could not possibly entertain putting into production this smaller unit until such time as the business becomes sufficiently attractive.

We would ask you to consider making provision for our larger model for the time being, but when we go into production in this country we will introduce the smaller model, and being interchangeable it should offer no difficulty in regard to fitting in the same place as the larger model.

If, of course, we were fortunate enough to obtain a large contract from any of the car manufacturers this would naturally alter our attitude, and we would consider going immediately into production with the smaller unit.

Yours faithfully,
p.p. S. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LIMITED.
