Mr. T. Maddocks,
Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
Avenue Malakoff,
Paris.

Dear Maddocks,

It has been arranged that the Amateur Drivers shall take over the running of 7-Goshawk-ll. We have suggested that when they start, you return to Derby. Before you return, however, we wish to know:-

(1) Whether the brakes on 7-G-ll are effective and silent.

(2) Whether the R.W. wheels have given any further trouble of creaking.

(3) Whether any flats have formed on the rollers of the rockers.

(4) Front springs. We wish to know whether the modified front springs have reduced the amount of bumping on the front of the car.

We have decided, in future, to use thick oil in place of grease throughout the Goshawk car. Will you please instruct the "Amateurs" accordingly and also see that there is a tin of thick oil on the car.

We also wish you to explain to the Amateur Drivers that the car must be lubricated every 1000 miles.

Also give them instructions as regards, possible adjustments of - brakes, contact breaker, filters (petrol and oil) tappets, fuzes, etc.

You also should impress upon them the necessity of keeping the Log Book up-to-date - as regards work done on the car and any tyres which have to be changed.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}
