I have wired you today to say that the top leaf of the near side front spring has broken and that the new type springs which you sent out have not yet been returned from Grenoble, & that we have no spares here, the last top leaf having been used on 6 GII. Enquiries have been made about the springs from Grenoble and they are expected in Paris this week end. Meanwhile we are having various things put right. The windscreen broke yesterday; it was very badly fitted when the car was down South, so a new one is being fitted complete with wiper. The backs are ready to fall off the two front seats so they are being fixed up again and plates put on. There is a lot of movement between the instrument board and the scuttle. The screws in the two small plates fitted are not much use so bolts are being fitted where possible.
The tube carrying the wire to the CS wing lamp came adrift the other day and was lost on the road: a new one is being fitted.
The new battery & box you are sending has not yet arrived or that could also be fitted now, while the car is held up.

Special points you wish me to watch

I Comparison of front springs. No information.

II R.W. Wheels.
Rather bad creaking from NS{Norman Scott} rear wheel, cured by tightening up still further. This wheel has not been touched since the RW expert tightened it up, since when the car has run about 2000 miles to time of being tightened again.
