Messrs.Rolls-Royce Limited, 14th June, 1937.
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

Many thanks for your letter of the 12th June, in connection with a set of five wheels removed from a Phantom III vehicle.

We regret that our letter was not sufficiently clear regarding tyre pressures. Upon inspecting the wheels there was definitely an indication upon four that tyres had been run in an under inflated condition, which we thought may have been done deliberately by your goodselves for say a body test, or for a specific reason.

The point which we would like to emphasize, however, is that the four wheels which carry this under inflation indication have loose spokes, whereas the fifth wheel, which does not show any evidence of low pressures, has no slack spokes and is in a satisfactorily tensioned condition.

In view of your final paragraph, however, no time is being lost in going ahead with the renovation of the wheels on the lines suggested in our letter of the 11th, and we trust that this will dispose of the matter entirely to your satisfaction.

Yours faithfully,
FOR THE DUNLOP RIM & WHEEL CO.LTD.
