Business case for supplying and fitting radiator shutters for 40/50 cars.

V3499 We frequently have enquiries from owners of 40/50 chassis who require radiator shutters fitted to the front of the radiator on their car. One is continually seeing 40/50 cars on the road and also illustrated in Motor-journals with radiator shutters fitted. Messrs. Faddon Bros. we believe, make a business of supplying and fitting hand operated shutters to 40/50 R.R. cars. The 40/50 cars made at Springfield are also fitted with hand-operated shutters which they buy from outside firms. During our last visit to W.W., R.{Sir Henry Royce} suggested that we might make shutters suitable for the 40/50 on the same lines as the 20 HP. These could then be used by Springfield and also fitted by us to 40/50 cars at the customer's request. We suggest that as there is a demand for shutters for the 40/50 cars and as we are thoroughly in agreement that they are an advantage on any car, we ought to take steps to be in a position to supply shutters ourselves instead of having to send customers to outside people.
