X3499 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. Copies to R.{Sir Henry Royce} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} PN.{Mr Northey} RADIATOR SHUTTERS. With reference to Hsl/LG5.2.23, I have discussed this matter with C.J., and we see no objection to our being in a position to supply shutters ourselves, instead of having to send customers to outside people, provided the shutters are vertical, as it was originally arranged they should be on the 40/50, in order to differentiate between that chassis and the 20 h.p. P.N. was intending to raise this matter at the Derby Conference on Thursday next, as we had had some complaints concerning boiling on long hills. It was thought that possibly radiator shutters might overcome this. The customer stated that he had to use blanking plates for ordinary running, but on a long hill the water boiled with the blanking plates on. He apparently did not want to remove his blanking plates every time he went up the hill. B.J. [Stamp Text]: RECEIVED Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 7 FEB 1923 | ||
