re VISIT TO MORRIS RADIATORS ect.

A visit was paid to the following firms by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards} and Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Col. on the 12th March 1940.

1. Messrs. John Marstons., Wolverhampton.
2. Messrs. Amal Ltd., Birmingham.
3. Messrs. Hallam, Sleigh & Cheston Ltd., Birmingham.
4. Messrs. Morris Radiators Ltd. Oxford.

1. JOHN MARSTONS.

Mr. Waring and Mr. Wren in charge of the Development Department in Mr. Stedman's absence were interviewed.

(a) John Marstons had made up some centrifugal type heater fans made out of sheet material in such a way as would lend itself to quantity production by pressing. Three of these rotors were brought back to Derby for test on our heater rig.

(b) The latest type of baffle for the R-R.2. heater was sketched and Marstons promised to let us have the approximate cost of this item when manufactured for production. An alternative form of baffle of rather simpler construction was also suggested to them, and they promised to let us have cost figures of this as well.

(c) As was previously arranged Marstons are making up four radiator units for car heaters, two being of the mark 6 type and two being of the mark 3 type, this modification being carried out with a view to investigating air noise in different types of matrix air ways.
