X1487. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.6/MA. February 4th, 1932. T.G. Skinner Esq., S.U. Carb. Company Adderley Park, Birmingham. Dear Sir, In connection with the twin H.V.8. Carburetters, will you please supply us with a pair of needles to the attached figures. We should also like 2 similar needles only with the slow running portion practically parallel as shown on attached sketch. The first 2 measurements are .1223 and .121. At the second figure .121 there would be a step to .120 and from here the needle completed as the former needles. This is to mark good slow running less affected by slack in the operation of the mixture control lever. At maximum speeds we find the suction discs only lift 1.100", the maximum lift being 1.625". Does this indicate that we should be using smaller carburetters for better slow running and power at low speeds. We should be grateful if you would let us have these 4 needles by return of post. Yours Faithfully, FOR ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
