X216. To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Bensport Series 1. We send you herewith: LeC.3406 - showing the bottom half of the crankcase with the starter motor raised .625". This has been done to enable the brake equalising shaft to be lifted and thereby improve the ground clearance. This has come about owing to the rod connecting the front equalising shaft and the balance lever on the servo being bent on the first experimental car when being driven over frozen snow.
