X.4158B Mr. Hives. from GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} 1.4.21. AMERICAN BUDD WHEEL. Philadelphia P.A. U.S.A. The rims are made by the Cleveland Welding Mfg. Company. Weight 43 lbs. Wheel comprises of two units - Goodyear detachable rim and disc wheel. Disc flange rivetted to rim (staggered), weak point being the sharp corner at bottom of rim securing detachable rim, this being done in process of pressing. The nuts for securing wheel to hub are coned, thereby giving more surface for taking stress etc. Fitting of tyres easy with proper tools. - Changing wheels - 6 nuts to take off with brace nuts loose - comparatively easy to change. - Weather conditions. Wheel being made practically in one piece - water and dirt can only enter tyre at ends of detachable rim - taken all round the wheel is a good sound job. GWH.{George W.
