BAKELITE TRACKING. X35T3

Further to our EFC3/T14.3.28, we attach copy of a letter from Bakelite Limited. Also we have made tests of a piece of pure bakelite moulded material (i.e. no filing medium) which in appearance is very much like resin and of mechanical properties quite unsuitable for the usual purposes. These show that the tracking effect is considerably greater than in the filled bakelite, whence we may infer that the tracking property belongs more to the bakelite than to the filling

Similar tracking tests are being made on bakelite surfaces varnished with various kinds of varnish. Distributor heads thus varnished have been placed for test on two experimental cars.
