BAKELITE LIMITED. 68, Victoria Street, London, S.W.1. 15th March, 1928. HVP/GW. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. FOR THE ATTENTION OF MR.E.FOWLER CLARK, A.M.I.E.E. Dear Sirs, In reply to your letter of the 14th inst, we are well aware that Bakelite is not suitable in cases where sparking over on the surface of the material is likely to occur. Under these conditions tracking readily takes place owing to carbonization of the material caused by the electrical discharge. We regret that we have no material at the moment which shows any improvement on this, but the matter is having careful attention. We have every hope of producing a material which shows considerable advantage on the standard Bakelite in this respect and we will advise you as soon as we have developed this commercially. We are, Yours faithfully, BAKELITE LIMITED. Managing Director. | ||
