MARTINDALE <341 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} To EY. from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} P.III - Broken Servo Lever. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}3/E13.10.36 Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}Sft.{Mr Swift}Wx. Referring to EY.1/8.12.10.36 I have understood that the lever in question is exactly the same from a design point of view as used on P.III's. I rather gather from your reference to 'second delivery of levers' that we are having these made out by a sub-contractor and presumably we previously used to make them ourselves. I am shocked to see that investigation reveals the fact that others in stock were found to be cracked in a similar way as this surely shows great weakness in our Inspection system on which we spend very many thousands per annum. I should like to see a report from the Inspector who passed these goods as being satisfactory. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
