"AA{D. Abbot-Anderson}" SERIES. FRAME SIDE MEMBERS.

With reference to the 40/50 HP. chassis running in France with the side members having the joggle 1" further back and extension suitable for luggage grid, as soon as this chassis has completed its test and you can examine the frame to see if this is satisfactory I would like you to put through a Standardization Sheet which will at least permit us to use the 1" joggle further back. By so doing we shall be able to use up 200 frames, and save an expenditure of approximately £2000.

From my point of view there has never been any reason why we should not use these, as actually the frame is somewhat stronger than otherwise, due to the position of the joggle being modified.

The sections have not been altered, and therefore the possibility of failure due to the change does not exist.

However, I could not persuade CJ. or BJ. to permit me to use the side members in question which were originally ordered to enable us to fit subframes to the bodies, therefore it will be necessary for us to have a Standardization Sheet sent out to cover this particular feature.
