E R 88a (100 T) (S H. {Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 768, 10-12-20) G 1947 X4285 AMERICAN BOSCH MAGNETO CORPORATION, SPRINGFIELD, MASS. January 12, 1921. L. W. Rosenthal. Rolls-Royce Company, Springfield, Mass., Attention of Mr. Beaver. X3916. X.4285. X.4275. Dear Sirs, I hand you herewith three sample DUZ-6 magnetos, one sample ZR-6 magneto and one sample outfit of our automatic advance battery ignition. The magnetos are arranged for clockwise rotation for installation on your cars. The battery ignition system, as you know, has not been adjusted to fit the advance in timing required by your engine. I am also handing to you herewith six springs, six control studs, and six ball pins for the governor of the battery ignition sample with different governors and springs. The attached computation of governor characteristics shows the method by which we arrive at the spring setting, the location of the ball stud and the shape of the lower end of the control studs to adapt the automatic advance of the governor to the advance characteristic of the engine. Yours very truly, | ||
