Modifications and fault rectifications for a B.V. No.1 Continental unit.

B.V. No.1 UNIT (CONTINENTAL).

We are returning the above unit for the following, which later is to be installed in 14.B.V. chassis when this car returns from the body people.

(1) R.R. ignition distributor to be fitted to DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}2300 (DCD.1182). Governor characteristic to be checked by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HC. as per the specification Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}13/WH.22.2.39.
New high tension wires to be fitted, also front bracket for same.
Correct coils to be fitted.

(2) Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NWC. to specify for flywheel and clutch.

(3) Fit rubbers under rocker nuts to EXS.1377 which Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} will supply.

(4) Induction pipe EXS.1507 and air intake EXS.1521. Carbs. to be supplied by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}

(5) Fit EB.451b push rods.

(6) Remove Metalastik dynamo coupling and fit std. coupling.

Faults to be rectified are:-

Water leaks from exhaust manifold centre port studs.

Oil leak from "General" oil filter, bottom banjo washers and top cover joint.

Oil leak from plunger spigot in wheel-case also latter requires a joint washer.
