Messrs. Geo. Salter & Co. Ltd.,
WEST BROMWICH.

Dear Sirs,

We are urgently in need of some helical compression springs similar to our FW.1570 which you are now supplying to our Production dept. but with a free length of 1.530 ± 0.010 instead of 1.990. as shown on our drawing.

We intend to use these springs so that they act as stops when choc-a-bloc. We have fully compressed one of your springs to our FW.1570 and find that its choc-a-bloc length is 1.250

We require the choc-a-bloc length of the special springs to be between 1.250 and 1.240. The ends should be ground square.

Will you please send us as soon as possible 6 springs to these particulars. An official order will follow.

Will you please let us know whether you can supply springs on a production basis with the choc-a-bloc length to a 0.010 limit. The free length is of less importance and we have specified the wide limit of ±0.010 to assist you as far as possible.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
