Petrol Pumps.

As our petrol pump expert Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems} is now serving with the Forces we are unable to give immediate answers to your queries in Sr/VA.7/HM.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}3.1.40.

To enable us to investigate your troubles it is essential that you should send us, as soon as possible, one of your Neoprene diaphragm units, preferably one which has given trouble in service, but, failing this, one of your service stock. In addition we would like a complete pump which has given trouble with Neoprene diaphragms.

Should you be unable to send us immediately any faulty parts will you please let us know whether the seized rollers were trapped between the diaphragm and the pot as at 'A' in attached sketch, or between the diaphragm and the Armature as at 'B'.

Will you also give us a list of the failures you have had together with mileage, and if possible, the petrol used.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}
