3 1/2 Litre Chassis B.2.CW.
------------------

We thank you for your memo PK/KC/DPB/12.12.38, dealing particularly with the question of the Piston not being tin coated.

There is however an air of mystery as to how this piston has got through, as although we agree according to our records the six pistons were sent to you on the 27.8.38, all our pistons in stock at this time were supposed to be tin coated.

The tin plating has no bearing on this particular case however, and we should like to know what cylinder the piston was removed from.

I think it would be wise to have your stock of pistons looked over to ascertain if there are any more that have not been tin coated.

It is realised the tin coated piston is difficult to detect, in artificial light, and it is assumed this is how the particular piston got through.
