-2- carburetter and making the throttle stick badly during the recent dry and dusty weather. Mr Hives had suggested that a screen should be fitted at the back of the fan to prevent the air which enters through the radiator from passing by the carburetter; this air should be forced to escape by means of a centrifugal fan through louvres or similar openings in the bonnet and guard, immediately behind the radiator. Mr Spinney informed the Committee that he believed there were a number of patents for this device and that this should be taken into account. He thought that the scheme would be difficult to arrange and that the alternative of a gauze fitted to the carburetter should be tried. The Committee agreed that Mr Spinney should consider the scheme suggested for experimental purposes. | ||
